CHAMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACTION
Dear Redwood City – San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Members:
At the March Board of Directors Meeting, the Redwood City – San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce decided to support the DMB Redwood City Saltworks 50/50 balanced approach in determining the best uses for the future of the 1,433 acre Redwood City Saltworks site, located adjacent to Seaport Boulevard.
The Redwood City- San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce believes that while a final plan for this site has not yet been crafted, this large industrial saltmaking site presents a unique opportunity to help us meet a number of priorities that are important to the economic vitality and overall quality of life in Redwood City and on the Peninsula.
The jobs housing imbalance is one of this area’s greatest challenges. We worry about the shortage of homes for firefighters, law enforcement, teachers, nurses and every day workers who can’t afford to live close to where they work. We believe that the Saltworks 50/50 balanced approach is the right approach, and furthermore, their Ten Commitments offer us great hope for an improved Redwood City economy and environment.
We need your help. We want you to get involved; to weigh in on the 50/50 balanced approach and the Ten Commitments that the Saltworks team has made. You can do this by visiting their Web site at www.RCSaltworks.com . Let them know that you support this balanced approach and want a healthy economy and environment now and in the future for Redwood City.
